SUNDAY DECEMBER 24

Christmas Eve

I woke up and it was 11am. The baby nurse was sitting in the chair. Mom had told me not to come to breakfast because the cooking staff was making a special Christmas dinner in the family room and Santa was going to be there for the kids. I asked the nurse what time it was and when she told me I asked how the babies were. She said, Matthew feed them bottles from the fridge and I feed them bottles once this morning. I said, wow thankyou. She asked how I felt and I said, good. I feel really rested. The only thing is my breast hurt. She said, the babies should be ready to eat soon. I smiled. I went to the bathroom and started getting ready for lunch. Mom called and I told her I was up. She said, she would bring the kids for lunch and a nap. I had lunch, took care of the babies and picked out what I was going to wear for dinner. At dinner time we all went to the family room. They had set out tables. Long ones and round ones. We sat at a round one. The dinner was great and Matthew really like the pumpkin pie. I noticed people looking at Matthew and wondering who it was. After dinner Santa Claus came with two women dressed as elves. They were taking pictures of the kids with Santa and giving the kids presents. Matthew and Mom took the kids up to get their pictures taken. Matthew sat Wyatt on Santa’s lap and then put Hunter on the other side. Hunter wasn’t smiling until Mom said to smile. Matthew picked up Wyatt and an elf handed him a present. It was too big so Matthew had to carry it. Mom helped Hunter down and another elf handed her a present which was also too big so Mom brought back to the table. When Mom got to the table Wyatt was sitting on Matthew’s lap. Matthew was helping him open his present. It was a cube with pieces you had to put in the holes. Hunter couldn’t get her present open so Matthew put Wyatt in his high chair. He then said to Hunter, do you want me to help you with your present? She put her head down a little and looked up at him. She pushed her present slowly toward him. Matthew reached out his arms and said, you have to come over here. The faces she made would have made anyone laugh. Matthew said, don’t you want your present open. Hunter gave in and let Matthew put put her on his knee. Matthew took her hand and said, pull the ribbon here. The two worked on the present until it was open. Hunter’s eyes lit up. A new baby doll. Hunter said, baby. She was very happy. Mom gave out her presents. Mom gave Matthew a special shaver for his head. Matthew smiled really big and said, thankyou mom. Mom gave me a new skirt and blouse set. I don’t know what she gave Amy. Cindy had gone to visit her parents. When I went to sleep I felt good and was happy.
