MONDAY NOVEMBER 27

I woke up early because Scott had put his fingers threw my finger on my left hand and was kissing my hand. I couldn’t help but smile when I opened my eyes to see him. I had missed him a lot. I said, why are you here? He said, I missed you so much this weekend I could hardly think of anything else. I smiled really big and said, I know how you feel. I really missed you too. He said, the doctor wanted to see you before breakfast, so the nurse should be coming to get you soon. I sat up and Scott said, how do you feel? I said, great. I slept all night except from getting up to pee once and I feel really good this morning. The nurse came in and Scott put my shoe’s by the bed. He helped me up and I slipped on my shoe’s, got in the wheel chair and Scott pushed me to the nurse’s room where she weight me and did all the other test. Then I went in the bathroom and peed in the cup. I couldn’t get over how good I felt. The doctor spent a lot of time measuring the babies and showing Scott and me their picture’s. She she they are getting really big. The doctor said, they look great and a Dr. Hill who specialized in child birth of twins was coming tomorrow to look at the test and me. The doctor said, we want to make sure everything goes well. Scott and I were really happy and went back to my room. I had breakfast in my lounge chair. Scott stayed most of the day except going to the gym after lunch when Dr. Walton came and then I took a nap. Dr. Walton and I had a good talk about the babies and how I wish Matthew would have got to see them. At 9pm I was watching tv and Scott turned it off and told me I had to go to sleep. I said, I know but I was just feeling so good. He left and I fell asleep. Conner texted after breakfast and I texted back about how good the babies were doing. Conner said, he would come see me tomorrow when he could and that he loved me very much.

Finally the helicopter landed at the airport. Two of the men got out the stretcher. And Matthew said to them gently. They took Jean from Matthew’s arms and placed him on the stretcher and covered him with the blanket and took him to the plane. Matthew moved to the edge of the helicopter and handed the pilot now standing outside the door two goats. One of the men standing next to the pilot was handed the other two. They were gently taken up the stairs into the plane and placed in the bedroom in the back. Matthew moved more bags giving the pilot bags and moving more bags to the door. Matthew instructed Sergeant the dog to jump out which she did. The three men then gathered up all the bags and headed to the plane. The dog followed Matthew up the stairs with the three men following. When they got in the plane  Mike who was a medic had placed Jean in a medical bed and was hooking him up to the monitors. After everyone was squared away the door was closed and the plane took off. Matthew asked the men if anyone had lived or worked on a farm? Jacob said, he had been a vet. Matthew said, good. He had the man sat across from the table. Matthew said, I want you to put some water in this bottle. They are most likely very thirsty and hungry by now. So they will all need some water. Matthew gave him 2 baby bottles. Then Matthew said they are each going to need 4 to 5 ounces of goats milk every 4 hours. I requested goat milk. Some is in the bags and some should be in the fridge. After they are all feed they need their diapers changed. They are going to need to be feed every 4 hours and their diapers checked. Please be kind they are very scared. Matthew looked at the dog and said, Sergeant go lay with them they are frighten. Sergeant got up and went went to the bedroom laying down next to the goats. Matthew turned back to man and said, checked the fridge for some meat for the dog. Nothing raw only cooked. He said, ok. He took the two bottles and went to feed the goats. Matthew said, oh, the dog needs water too. The man said, no problem. Matthew then got out of his chair to talk to the Mike the medic who was listening to Jean’s heart. Matthew said, How is he doing? The medic said, good. Matthew pull some x-rays out of his bag and medical reports. Matthew handed them to Mike and said, he has several broken bones. Matthew said, I want you to try and get some protein milk down him every two hours.  Maybe 4 to 6 ounces if he will drink it.   I need you to take pictures from head to toe of his whole body for the doctor. Also keep very good logs of temperature, blood pressure, liquids in and out. ect. When you get all the pictures, fax them and your log to the doctor. If he needs pain meds, keep them as little as possible and don’t  tell him. It will only upset him. Then I want you to take some warm water and start giving him a sponge bath. Start with his feet. Be very gentle because he is bruised head to foot. If it seems to hurt, stop. After you wash his feet, put this this goat salve on his feet. If you can do that, move to his legs while keeping him warm. I don’t want him to get cold. Medic said, no problem. I will take care of all of that. Matthew said, thank you brother, I really appreciate you guys coming to get us and taking care of us. Mathew said to everyone, I am going to go in the bathroom and get cleared up, does anyone need in there first? Everyone had already hit the bathroom so they shook their heads.

Matthew took a protein drink out of the fridge, Irish spring soap from a drawer, a couple of razors and headed for the bathroom. He sat on the toilet awhile and drank his drink. When he was done going he got up and took his robes off and other articles of clothing off. Across from the bathroom was a washer drier. Matthew stepped out of the bathroom and place his things in the machine. He was also bruised from head to foot. He had a shiner in his left eye that was very big and didn’t look good. Matthew looked at the dog and said quietly Sergeant. The dog looked up and Matthew wave him to the bathroom. Matthew decided he needed a bath. Jacob, Devin, Mike and Josh saw him naked and bruised. The also saw a huge tattoo on his back. Matthew put the dog in the shower and gave him a bath with Irish spring and then dried him off. The dog really liked it. Matthew had she should lay by the door while he took at shower. He said, you can’t go out until you are dry. After the shower he let the dog out and decided to shave his face and head to start with. Then put some goats milk salve around the eye. After he was done with that he added goats milk salve where needed. When Matthew was done he took his clothes out of the washer machine and put back on one robe and took the other one to put in his bag. When he came out he checked on Jean. The monitors all looked good and the medic said he drank 4 ounces of protein drink. The medic also showed Matthew the urine bag and said, looks good. No blood. Matthew was very happy to hear that. He said to Mike the medic, thanks. Matthew sat down in his chair to rest. Jacob the guy with the goats was sitting on the floor with a goat in his lap. He was petting it to make it feel better. Devin  said to Matthew, are you hungry? Matthew said, I could eat something. The guy got up and got these tv dinners out and started fixing them for everyone.  When he put one in front of Matthew it was chicken, pees, mashed potatoes and pudding. Matthew looked at it. He had not seen food like that for a long time. He said, do you have any oatmeal? Devin looked in the cabinets and found some. Devin said, yes. Coming up. Matthew ate all the mashed potatoes and kept the pudding for later. Matthew then turned to  Sergeant and said, come here. Sergeant came and sat up next to Matthew’s chair. Matthew said, I can’t eat this. Could you finish this for me? Matthew set the plate of chicken and peas in front of Sergeant and she cleaned the plate. You could tell Sergeant was very happy. Matthew picked up the clean plate. Matthew said, thanks. Now go take care of the babies. Sergeant went back and laid down next to the goats to keep them warm. The men had been watching Matthew and the dog. They were amazed at the rapport between the two. Devin set a bowl of oatmeal in front of Matthew. He tasted it and said, thankyou this is great. The rest of the trip the men helped take care of Matthew, Jean, the dog, and the baby goats. Even though Matthew didn’t really look like Matthew they could tell it was him and they were really glad to have him back.
