JULY 6 THURSDAY

The baby didn’t wake me up until almost 5am. He was very fussy and didn’t want to go back to sleep. I didn’t mind holding him, rocking him and playing with him. I wondered if he had Hunter’s cold but didn’t see any sign of it. I also wondered if he was getting enough milk. I rocked him in the chair for quite a while. Saying, I am going to kiss you. He was getting teeth so I got a frozen ring out of the freezer. It could be he is having teeth trouble also. Hunter woke up with crying with tears, snot running down her face, and smelly runs in her diaper. I felt bad for Hunter, she was so miserable. It was going to be a difficult day. I felt really good. I think throwing-up twice last night calmed my stomach. I was hoping it stayed that way. I was so hungry. I felt like I could eat a linebacker’s breakfast.

At breakfast I ate my eggs and bacon but only the orange juice seemed interesting. I was holding my head and Scott asked if I was ok. I said, I have such a craving for a big piece of juicy meat. I feel like I could eat it raw if you didn’t have time to cook it. He said, that’s interesting. I wonder if it is an iron or protein deficiency. Since Hunter is in bed and Amy is watching her maybe you would like to go over to the doctor? I said, yes. Sounds good, I feel weak also. We went to the clinic and a nurse checked me in. The nurse did the weight, temperature, blood pressure and pee test. Just like before. In the room the nurse pricked my finger and checked for iron. She also took a blood test and sent it to the lab. After asking several questions and writing on the chart she said, the doctor will be in in a few minutes.

When the doctor came in I told her that I was hungry all the time and I was feeling weak. She looked at the chart and said, my iron was below acceptable limits and wanted to know if I was taking my pills. I said, every morning with breakfast. I looked at Scott and said, haven’t you seen me taking my pills? He said, yes. Everyday. The doctor said, Lets, try one for breakfast and one for dinner until Monday when you are due back. Also your magnesium and blood count are low. Why don’t I hang a bag and see if you feel better. She turn to Scott and said, how much protein is she getting and Scott said, 100. The doctor said, lets move it up to 200 and more orange juice things like that. You might suggest peanut butter in a smoothie. Looking at Scott she said, you know a boxers diet don’t you. Change hers to fit that. No candy, pudding, toast and jelly. I see no need at this time. And she looked at me and said, I should have asked you this to start. How much have you been throwing-up. I said, not a lot. Last night twice but not much. I was playing tog of war with some really stinky guy. Last time it was every evening between 8pm and 10pm for a while and then quit. So far it has been every couple of days and I would only loose my protein drink at most. She looked at me and said, are you turning on the Christmas lights and I said. no. I haven’t even thought about it. She looked at me like she was thinking. I thought she thinks I am lying. I said, what? The doctor said, last time I gave your pills and a 100 grams of protein everyday, You were exercising in the gym and doing a lot of things and you didn’t have a problem. I said, I swear I have not been jumping. I have hardly been getting any exercise. The doctor smiled and said, good. We can rule that out as a problem. She measured my stomach and I said, I have been very depressed. She said, your blood sugar was fine. I will give Scott a test kit and he can check your blood a couple times a day. That way we can see if it is blood sugar. Let’s try to clear the food deficiencies and see if you feel better. She opened a drawer and took out a little book. She said, you can go right after the bag but right down and add up your protein everyday. Write down when you feel depressed, throw-up and Scott can add the blood sugar to the notebook also. Bring this note book back Monday and we will see how you are doing. If you go to the kitchen after you are done and ask for a 4 oz steak they might have one and see if your feel better after you eat it. I went to the kitchen after the bag and they quickly cooked a 4 ounce steak. They were really nice about it. Scott told them I had to up my protein from 100 to 200 for a week and they made a note of it. I sat and ate the steak. I did helped the food craving I was having.

When my head hit the pillow I checked my phone and there was no. messages from Matthew. He just left Monday and said it takes a few days to get there. I wondered if he made it yet.
