TUESDAY DECEMBER 12

Going home.

I woke up and opened my eyes to see Matthew with a baby in his daddy shirt. He was talking very softly to the baby saying sweet things. I thought what a wonderful husband. How could I have slept with another man while he was gone. I rolled my lips in trying not to cry with guilt. I thought just hold on until he goes to see about business and I will call Dr. Walton. If I start crying he may think he did something. He looked at me and I smiled. I quickly got up and went to the bathroom to pull my self together. When I came out Matthew had put the baby in it’s bed and said, breakfast is coming soon. I replied, I am starved. Later the doctor came in and said, I could go home if I wanted and a baby nurse would be coming to help when Matthew was working. I looked at Matthew smiling from ear to ear and said, isn’t that great. Matthew said, I agree I am really tired of this bed. Matthew called his mom and Josh. Mom said she bought a double stroller and would bring it over. Josh said, he would be there to help. Mom sent over some clean clothes for me to change into. Josh came after breakfast with some bags for us to put everything in. I was so excited and feeling good. Mom and Carlson showed around 11:00 and I was ready to go. Mom looked at Matthew and how he had changed. She hugged him and said, she was so glad he was back. I thought we lost you forever. You could tell she didn’t want to let go. Matthew hugged her and said, it’s so great to be back. She stopped hugging him and stepped back. She looked him up and down. She then said, my you have change. Are they giving you enough to eat? Matthew smiled at her and said, I lost a lot of weight coming back but I will get in better shape now I am home. She smiled and said, I love you son. Matthew looked at her smiling and said, I love you too mom. Josh had me sit in the wheel chair. Matthew pushed the stroller with the babies and his mother by his side. Sergeant sat up and looked at the babies in the stroller and was wagging her tail with excitement. Matthew pointing at Sergeant said to his mom, we have a new addition to the family. Mom looked at the dog and smiled. Matthew had never had a dog growing up so mom thought this was nice. Mom said, we will have to get her a nice bed and food dishes. Carlson lead the way to a door off the hall near mom’s room. He explained to Matthew that it looked like a regular door but it was special and bullet proof. He open the door and everyone went into an extra wide hall. Down the hall was another door that Carlson said, went to Mom’s room. He recommended using the door to Mom’s room and keep the main door locked when possible. He passed one room and Carlson said, this is a care takers room. Then the next room was a kids room and the next a kids room. Finally we reach the master bedroom. It was a big room and I do mean big with a king size bed. It had all the furnishings and a big screen tv. I sat on the bed and fell back with my arms open. Carlson said, Mom did all the picking of the furnishings. I said, Mom this is so beautiful thankyou. The room had a sliding glass door. Carlson pulled open the curtain, opened the sliding door and took Matthew out onto a large patio. Carlson explained that there was a sliding glass door from Mom’s room which Matthew could see. Then he explained the play area had walls on all four side for safety. You have a patio table and chairs. The kids have the play set with swings, slide and tree house at the top. When Carlson had Matthew out where we could not hear him, he told Matthew there was a safe room with an escape tunnel. Carlson said, this whole thing was designed for your families safety. That there were cameras on his tv to see his hall and other areas. He said, there were even cameras on the other side of the wall. Matthew was very impressed and said, thankyou brother this is so nice. Much more than I ever expected. Mom had bought a blue and pink bassinets for the babies. She carefully put them in their beds from the stroller. She then told me there were clothes for me in the dresser drawer and the small dresser by the bassinets had baby clothes. On top was a changing table. She then took the baby nurse to the second kids room and said if she needed to stay over night or just to take a nap she could stay in there. I went in the bathroom and it was another big room with a tub and steam shower. It was so unbelievably nice. Even had a urinal for men. I thought Wow, this is nice. Mom showed me a rocking chair, a tread mill, exercise bike and a table to eat at in the bedroom. She said, she picked them out in case I didn’t have a chance to get to to gym. When I went to bed and crawled between those clean sheets in a regular bed I was out like a light. It was a really good day.
