Scott sent Paul home yesterday and then Scott laid on the hospital bed. He had his meals there, watched the babies and Angel. A little after midnight a baby nurse came in and feed the babies. Angel and the babies seem to be doing good. Angel had been sleeping since about 6am Wednesday. The nurse handed one baby to Scott to feed and burb while she feed the other one. Scott was walking around with the little girl. He wanted to cry because she was so precious and beautiful. After the babies went back to sleep the nurse said she would be back later. That everything looked good. Scott laid back down on the bed to take a nap. An hour later my breast woke me. They were so swollen and dripping. I opened my eyes to see Scott asleep on the bed. I didn’t remember last night or how I got there. I looked at Scott and thought, am I married to Scott? Was the memories of Matthew a dream? I was so confused. I decided I must have dreamed Matthew came back and I am still with Scott. At least the dreams were wonderful and not nightmares. I reached for the buzzer to call the nurse and Scott opened his eyes. He immediately got up and came to the bed. I said, my breast are leaking. I need the nurse and a breast pump. Scott said, I will get the nurse. I smiled and said, thankyou. He hit the buzzer and then helped me sit up. He was so sweet and was saying, sweet heart are you ok? I said, yes. I just need to take care of this breast milk problem. He said, are you hungry? You have been asleep a long time? I said, could I have some water? Scott hurried and pour a glass. I was really thirsty. I didn’t know it but it was most likely what they gave me to sleep. I said, why are we here? Scott said, we had a breach last night. So Carlson brought you and the babies here. I looked at him but didn’t remember it. I said, is everyone ok? Scott smiled at me and said, yes. He then kissed me on the forehead. He said, you were sleeping so a nurse came in and feed the babies. There doing great. They are so precious I can’t believe how wonderful they are. I thought I must still be with Scott. I couldn’t remember much of anything. No sooner than he hit the button the nurse showed. She said, since the babies are asleep let’s use a breast pump. I tried to think what to say and nothing came so I said, ok. She brought me the breast pump, some bottles and a new shirt. I was still having a problem staying awake. After I used the breast pump and Scott set the bottles in the little fridge in the room, I went back to sleep. Scott was being so sweet. He tucked me in and kissed me on the forehead again saying, If you need anything let me know and don’t worry I will be here when you wake up. I didn’t have any feelings for him, the babies or anything. I felt like I didn’t belong there. I said, thankyou and fell asleep again.
Around 4:30am a crying baby woke me. I looked at Scott as he was picking up the baby. I said, could I have the baby? He handed the baby to me and I started breast feeding him. I did it so my breast would not hurt, not because I was the child’s mother. I was wide awake now and decided I had, had enough sleep. Scott got a phone call from one of Matthew’s men. I couldn’t hear what it was about. My ears seemed to be stopped up and my nose was running. Matthew woke and wanted to know how his family was? Scott said, everything is great. The man said, I will let Matthew know. Matthew’s man told Matthew his family was good, they got the men who did this and one was alive. That Carlson was keeping the man for Matthew. Around 6am Angel’s doctor came in and looked at Angel. The doctor said, do you know what happened? I responded that the only thing I remember is waking up here. The doctor looked at me and was wondering if it was loss of memory due to shock. She said, you are looking good, the babies are great and we will see how you do with your meals. If everything is good you can go home if you want. When breakfast came I was starved. Two eggs over easy, toast, turkey bacon and melon. I was so hungry and it was great. Downed 2 glasses of water on top of it.
After breakfast mom showed up. At first I didn’t remember who she was. She looked at me, the babies and Scott. She said, I looked great and was glad everyone was safe. She hugged Scott and said, Carlson told me what happened. I just want to thankyou. Scott said, it was nothing. You know I love Angel and the kids. I would put my life on the line for them. She said, yes. I know and will never forget. Mom said, she would come back later and left. I wondered what happened.
Mom went to Matthew’s room. Matthew was just sitting up. Mom took his hand and said, I am glad you are doing well. You scared us. Matthew smiled, They caught me off guard. I was so happy. I didn’t think something like this would happen. This has taught me an important lesson. He asked Mom if she had been to see Angel and the kids. She said, yes. Angel and the twins are in their room and doing really well. The other two kids are with me, Cindy and Amy. We didn’t know anything happen except for the alarms. Matthew said, thanks Mom. I will go see Angel as soon as I get out of this bed. Mom said, good, but talk to Carlson about everything that happened before you go. Matthew wondered why she said that but said, ok. Mom kissed him on the cheek and said, I have to go. See you later. She left. The guard in his room said to Matthew, are you ready to eat? Matthew asked, how long until lunch and then said, I think I will shut my eyes until lunch. I should be good by then and ready to get back on my feet. The guard said, ok. I will just sit in this chair until then. If you need anything at all just let me know. Matthew shook his head yes and shut his eyes.
At lunch the guard from outside Matthew’s room brought the tray in. It was Matthew’s favorite. A noodle bowl with egg and chicken. After Matthew ate it he buzzed the nurse. She came right away. Matthew wanted to know when he could get all the tubes off. He felt he needed to get up. She took out all the lines and then the catheter. Matthew wrapped the sheet around him and went in the bathroom. He came out and the nurse said, how did everything go? Matthew said, good. Its good to be back on my feet. He need a shaver, towels and soap to clean up with. The nurse took the guard from in the room with her and gave him everything Matthew needed. Matthew then sent the guard to see Mom about a clean robe. When Matthew came out of the bathroom after his shower he felt really good. Carlson showed up with 4 more men, so Matthew sat on the bed as Carlson told him that 3 of the men were dead, one got away and a live one was in the basement for Matthew. Matthew said, thankyou. I want to know where these men came from? Then Carlson told Matthew that Scott had saved the babies. That he had let one man get away if he would give him the babies. Matthew rolled his tongue around in his mouth. He didn’t know who he hated more. Scott or himself for not protecting his family. At least Scott saved his children. He felt like the old man that Jean would call him. Scott was younger and in love with Angel. Again Matthew had not protect Angel. Matthew couldn’t believe he had let this happen. Carlson said, just let me know what you want to do? We are trying to find out how they got in. We have all these safe guards. We can’t believe it happened. Matthew said, thankyou. I feel really good and may come see you later. Carlson left. The 6 men got together and all got down on one knee. Matthew just looked at them and one said, we are here for you. Anything you need. Matthew said, one of you can walk the hall with me if you want. I feel I need to get some exercise before I go see my wife and the rest can go home. They stood up and started talking among themselves about who was staying. One said to Matthew, I am ready and the rest left. Matthew and the man started walking down the hall and around. Matthew said to the man, do you know what happened? The man said, we think it was an inside job. Matthew said, why do you think that? The man said, because we believe they came in through the kitchen and they only went to your room. Someone hacked the camera’s to your room most likely from the outside. After a while Matthew said, ok. I feel I am ready to see my wife. Do you know where she is? The man said, yes. This way.
At Angels room there was a guard outside. He saw Matthew and smiled. He then opened the door for Matthew. Matthew went in and Scott was sitting on the bed. Matthew wanted to hate him, kill him and he wanted to hug him for saving his family. Angel’s eyes got really big and couldn’t believe what he was seeing. Matthew was standing at the end of her bed. She looked at Matthew and then Scott and then back to Matthew. Matthew was alive and in the same room with Scott. Matthew came up to Angel and put his arms around her. He kissed her on top of the head. He said, I am so glad you and the twins are ok. Angel wanted to rock back and for with anxiety but couldn’t. Matthew let go of her and said, how do you feel? Angel look at him with a loss for words and finally said, I am fine. Matthew said, good. We will get you home when you are up and about. Matthew turned to Scott thinking I need to thank him because he succeed where I failed. Matthew walked up to Scott, put out his hand. Scott stood up and put out his hand. Matthew shook it and said, I can’t tell you how grateful I am to you for saving my children. You are truly my brother. The guard who came with Matthew was watching how Matthew was treating Scott. Scott said, It was nothing. I am just glad they are safe. Matthew looked at the children. They were awake and looked happy. Matthew turned to Scott and didn’t know what to say to him. Matthew said, I owe you my life. This guard is going to stay and watch my family. Have you given a statement to Carlson? Scott said, no not yet. So I will leave you with your family and go do that. Scott headed down the hall thinking, why didn’t that mother fucker just die. He reminds me of a cat with 9 lives. Matthew picked up one of the babies and said to Angel, there is a guard outside and this man here, so you are really safe. Matthew was kissing and talking to the baby. Angel said, I am doing really well. I just need to get out of this bed. Matthew said, take your time. I need to make sure our room is secure before we return. Angel just looked at Matthew thinking, I must be married to Matthew. She wondered why she had no feelings for Matthew, Scott or the babies. She felt she could just get up, walk away and never look back. But, where would she go? Matthew put the baby back in its bed and said to Angel, I am going to go see Mom. If you need anything just let one of the guards know. Angel looked at him and said, ok. Matthew looked at her and knew something was wrong. He wondered if she hated him for failing to protect her and the kids. Matthew took her hand and kissed it saying, I love you very much. Angel smiled. Matthew left. He wasn’t going to see MOM. He wanted to get his hands on the man who was still alive.
Matthew showed in Carlson’s office. Carlson took Matthew down stairs to the room where a man handcuff and ducked taped to a chair. Matthew walked around him and looked at him. Matthew said, who are you? Matthew sat on a chair in front of the man. The man said, I am not telling you anything. My partners will come and get me. Matthew said, are you talking about the three dead ones. The man sat up and said, They are not dead. Matthew said, I am sorry to say they are. I might be willing to let you go if you tell me everything. The man said, they are not dead. You are just saying that. Matthew said, I could bring the bodies in but I understand one doesn’t have a head and the others are a bloody mess. Why don’t you just tell me everything and I will arrange to let you go home. What is your name? The man said, are you lying? Matthew said, what do I have to gain by lying. Only you have anything to gain by tell me what I want to know. Matthew looked at the man and got up. Matthew said, I am going to go and when you have something to say I will come back. The man said, the other guys are dead? Matthew said, yes. They didn’t make it. The man said, you will let me go. Matthew said, why should I keep you? What is your name? The man said, Hank. Matthew said, why are you here? The man said, you have a 2 million dollar bounty on your head? Matthew said, really? The man said, yes. A women named Carla called and said, she knew where you were. She said, she didn’t want the bounty. She just wanted you dead for killing some guy named Scott. Matthew kind of laughed. Then said, Well there are times when I would like to kill Scott but I haven’t done it yet. Who is Carla? The man said, Carla said she loved this Scott and wanted to marry him. She said, you caught Scott poking your wife and you killed him. Matthew said, Scott is live and well and just went home. How much of the money was Carla to get? The man said, she wasn’t to get any she just wanted to see you dead. Matthew went on talking to the man about how Carla let them in and that Devil Dog had the contract. Matthew got up to leave. The man said, can I go? Matthew said, maybe later. I want you to think about everything and see if you forgot anything. The man said, I didn’t forget anything. Matthew said, I will be back later and we will talk some more. I want to make sure you tell me everything. The man said as Matthew was leaving, I told you everything now let me go. Matthew left. Matthew told the guard outside the door that no one was to go in the room. Matthew went to see Carlson and find out if anyone knew this Carla. Carlson had gathered a committee together of 4 people to take statements and figure out what happened. Carlson told Matthew how he found Angel and what she was doing with the butt of a gun. After several hours Matthew told Carlson he wanted to go check out their apartment and then spend the rest of the evening with Angel.
Matthew showed to the hospital room of Angel. He told the guard outside that he appreciated him. When he went in the room the baby nurse was feeding a baby and Angel was asleep. Matthew asked the nurse why Angel wasn’t feeding the baby and the nurse said that Angel said she wasn’t feeling well. The nurse said, we took all the lines off and she went to the bathroom on her own. The doctor check her out and said, she was fine. She then said, they are bringing dinner soon. Maybe she will feel better after she eats. Matthew offered to feed the other baby. The nurse had him get a bottle out of the fridge and warm it up. Matthew had the little girl. His heart melted when when he saw her face. She was so wonderful. He thought I really don’t like Scott but he did save my children. Just as he was putting the baby back in her bed they brought dinner. He woke Angel and told her dinner was there. She said, I am not really hungry. Matthew said, you need to try and eat something. Here, let me help you sit up and get you started. Its your favorite. Beef stroganoff. Angel said, ok and sat up. Matthew was wondering what was wrong with her and thinking about how Carlson found her beating the man with the gun. Angel ate a few bites. Pushing the tray away, she laid back down and went to sleep. When the nurse came in Matthew said he needed to talk to the doctor because she isn’t eating. The nurse said she would leave a note on Angel’s chart for in the morning. Matthew called Mom and asked if she had a clean daddy shirt. She said, she did and to come and get it. Matthew said, he was sending a man over. Matthew asked the man outside the door to retrieve it and he was back before he new he had left. Matthew took care of the babies for the night.
