The siren went off, lights when on, and 4 male nurses came in behind the drill instructor. The drill instructor said loudly, these nurses are here for your blood test, your pee test, your weight, blood pressure and ect. You will follow their instructions. Then drink your juice. Then eat your protein and get ready like every other day. We will do this every Sunday like clock work. Now begin. Everyone did this including the drill instructor. When Katarina showed at the drill instructors door she waited until the nurses came out. One then took her in the drill instructors office and gave her the same test. When everyone was dress and in front of their beds including Conor’s 2 boys. Katarina went and stood in line. Matthew was watching the 2 boys. Matthew liked the way they jumped out of bed and made it so quickly. Matthew decided to watch and learn from them. The boys told everyone they had been thru this before but sitting in a class room during the year had made them soft.
At night before bed time the drill instructor called Cole into the office. He gave Cole a box of cell phones. He said, everyone can take their phone and text one line. Just one line to a loved one saying something like, doing great love you. Do you understand? One line. Cole said, yes. The drill instructor said, then return the phones to me. When Walker and Carter got their phone they turned to Matthew and said, our wife’s don’t have phones. What should we do? Matthew said, text Mom and at the end of the line put your name. Mom will know what to do.
Before bed a text came across my phone. Doing great. Love you and the kids. It brought a smile to my face. I showed the message to Mom and she said she got a message from Walker and Carter. She was going to show it to their wives in the morning. The two boys texted their dad, love it here. This is going to be a great summer.
MONDAY MAY 27 Monday went fast with the men in training and us out at the pool.
TUESDAY MAY 28 Tuesday was another fast day. I took several pictures so Matthew would have at least one picture a day. He is going to be gone 13 or 14 weeks.
WEDNESDAY MAY 29 Mom had one of the men from the kitchen who was also a life guard come out and go over teaching the kids to swim. He also said he would come out every other day in the after noon and help teach a couple of times a week. Mom wanted them to be good swimmers before Matthew came back. The life guard said, it was good to teach the kids to swim before they could walk because once they can walk they have a greater change of falling in the pool.
It was a good day for everyone.
THURSDAY MAY 30 Just another good day. I am starting to miss Matthew more everyday. Hope I get another message Sunday.
FRIDAY MAY 31 I think because it is Friday I miss Matthew more. Some couples were dancing in the family room after dinner.
The day was good for everyone.
SATURDAY JUNE 1 Conner showed up with 2 sets of head gear for his boys. He sat with both drill instructors and his 2 boys to explain he needed these head sets checked out by all 4. The doctor wanted complaints and suggestions. If you looked at the top you could see behind you. If you looked in front you could see in front with day or night vision. They had special controls to show movement behind you and you could adjust the number of feet behind you. On the bottom left it showed where someone else was. They also showed a little map on the bottom right which showed you where you were on the map. The designer was a doctor I had rescued who was working on an invisible suite. The doctor was designing the headsets after a game he had played. He also wanted to know if the 2 boys and the drill instructors could check out the invisible suits. The doctor had 2 of them and had made them safe. Before they were two hot, heavy and didn’t always keep you invisible. They also were hard to get around in. He had made a lot of changes.
SUNDAY JUNE 2 Today was good and I got my message from Matthew.
MONDAY JUNE 3 Scott and Katarina had delivered their reports to Carlson’s desk. These reports covered last week. Then Scott and Katarina were taking the protein bars and juice over to Matthew’s group. They stopped at the meal room were Matthew’s group was. Katarina sat the protein bars on the table and said, to Scott she would met him back at their room since she was done for the day. Katarina worked with Matthew’s group and Scott was working most of the time with the military group. Not far from the meal room Katarina met up with 2 of the military group. One stepped behind her and one in front. They were not little. Katarina said, you 2 are not suppose to be over here. The one in front said, well if we didn’t we would not see a pretty little lady like you. Katarina started to step around the guy in front, when the guy in back of her grabbed her arms. Katarina said, you don’t want to do that. The front man said, you are such a beautiful delicate flower. He then started unbuttoning his belt. Katarina said again, I wouldn’t do that. The front man said, we can’t pass up this chance to enjoy this beautiful flower. He started to undo her belt. Katarina leaned forward and then whipped her head back hitting the guy in the nose as hard as possible. Breaking his nose. Blood gushed out. At the same time using the back guy to lean against while she raised her feet and kicking the front guy in the balls with both feet. The back guy had let go of Katarina as the front guy yelled in pain. Katarina grabbed the right hand of the front guy breaking his wrist and fingers. She quickly did the same to his left hand. She turned her back to him and kicked him in the stomach. He fell to the ground. She stomped on his right ankle and then the left. Hobbling him. She kicked the man behind her in the stomach causing him to fall. Some one in the meal room heard the noise and looked out the window. The area was well lit and they saw what was happening. He yelled, oh my god. Everyone ran to the window. After looking out side Scott ran out and put two fingers in his mouth which a very loud whistle came out. Katarina was just about to stomp on the second mans other ankle when she stopped and looked up. She saw Scott and looked down at the men and then back at Scott. Scott came over with everyone following him. Katarina held her head down. She had lost control and she was never to do that. She had never done that. Matthew looked at the 2 men and started telling his men to go get two wheel chairs, go get Connor, go get Carlson and he sent 2 men after the drill instructors. The men went off in all directions. Scott looked Katarina over. He could tell she was unharmed. He said, why did you do this? Katarina said, they frighten me and I lost control. Scott was mad and thought, what the hell. He said, that is all you have to say for yourself? Katarina said with out looking up, yes. She couldn’t look Scott in the eye. She had never lost control before and she was so ashamed. She could kill a man quickly if she wanted. She had been trained for years to kill. Everyone showed and Conner said, What happen? That is two of my best trained men. Matthew instructed his men to pick up the men on the ground up and put them in the wheel chairs. Then take them to the hospital. One man was in pain but managed to yell, “you should lock that psycho up”. Matthew looked at him and notice his pants were undone. Matthew said, how did your pants come undone? The man didn’t answer. Scott looked at Katarina still with her head down and said, go to the hospital and get checked out. Call me when they are done and I will come pick you up. Katarina didn’t raise her head because she felt so guilty. She couldn’t look at the men or Scott. She had let Scott down. She had let everyone down. She could have taken care of the problem without going like the man said, psycho. She just went off to the hospital. Conner, Carson and the 2 drill instructors turned to Scott. Carlson said to Scott, after she gets checked out let me know I will come and take a statement. I have to write a report for the government. Scott said, No problem. Everyone returned to what they were doing. They were all thinking those were two big muscular men and she wiped the floor with them. She didn’t have a scratch on her. Matthew’s group were hopping they were not going to throw her off their team.
When Scott got to the hospital Katarina was still in a room so he sat out side. Soon Carlson showed and sat next to him. Carlson said, did you see what happened? Scott said, no. Just heard the noises out side and went to see what was happening. The doctor came out after awhile and said, I have checked her out and taken her statement. You can go in and talk to her. I will be back soon. Scott and Carlson came in. Katarina’s bottom lip was quivering as she said to Scott, I am so sorry. I really am sorry. Scott said, You don’t think you could have handled the situation in a better way. Ashamed Katarina said, I didn’t think. They frightened me and I reacted with out thinking. Scott said, have you ever become frightened before and lost control? Katarina said, no. Carlson had a note pad and sat in a chair. Carlson said, tell me word for word what happened? She told him that she was going back to her room and everything that happened and was said. Once Scott wanted to laugh but he knew what she did was wrong. Carlson said, what could you have done different? She explained how there were several ways she could have solved the issue without breaking bones. When Carlson finished asking questions he said, you are suspended for 2 weeks. In that time there will be a hearing. You are to stay home until after the hearing. Katarina couldn’t say anything because she would cry. Scott said, thankyou you to Carlson. He then continued, I will take her home when the doctor is finished with her. Carlson said to Scott, see you tomorrow. I have to go and find the doctor. I have to have the 2 men moved to another hospital when the doc is finished with them. He left. The doctor came in and gave Katarina a bag with some pills in it. She said to Katarina, take one of these vitamins everyday. She then handed Katarina a paper that said, The date 9 months from now is Saturday, March 1, 2025 was written on it. Then the doctor said, come back in nine months. You can go home now and left the room. Katarina looked at the paper. Then looked in the bag at prenatal vitamins. Scott got up to see what the doctor had given her. She was smiling ear to ear. It was bouncing around in her brain. She was pregnant. She had never thought about having children. Scott looked at the paper as he said, what’s up? I am sure you were getting enough vitamins. The paper said, 9 months with a date. He looked at her and said, your pregnant? Your pregnant? She smiled really big and said, yes. Scott started hugging her and kissed her and saying this is so great. Katarina said, we should go home now. Scott stopped kissing her and said, yes. He picked her up like he did when they got married and started caring her down the hall. Katarina said, I can walk. He didn’t listen. He was so happy. He had never thought he would have kids. As he passed people they looked at Katarina. Katarina said, Scott I can walk. Scott would look at some of the nurses who were looking at Katarina and said, were having a baby. Hay everyone, we are having a baby. They were both laughing and smiling from ear to ear. Katarina kissed Scott on the cheek. As they got to the door of the building one of the guards opened the door and said, Is she ok? Scott proudly said, we are having a baby. That made the guard smile. In their room Scott set her in a chair and said, I am going to get you a snack. No wine. No wine. Scott said, is there anything you want to eat? Katarina said, shouldn’t we go to bed? Scott said, no. You don’t have to go to work tomorrow. Katarina said, anything you want to eat. Scott said, ok and left. He came back with all this food. Protein drinks, apple juice, chocolate cake, cheese, cracker and glasses of milk. Katarina said, I thought you were getting a snack. Scott said, some of this goes in the fridge. He started putting the protein drinks, apple juice, small containers of milk, cheese and charters snack container and other things in the fridge. They were left with a small cheese plate, chocolate cake and two large glasses of milk. Katarina said to Scott, I love you so much. Scott came over and kissed her. He pulled his chair next to her chair. He then said, I love you too. Very much. Do you want to watch something? Katarina said, what do you have in mind. They had a great evening and took a shower together. Scott couldn’t hardly sleep he was so excited about becoming a dad.
