I woke up this morning so sick to my stomach and everything hurt. I wondered if it was something I ate last night. I can’t eat anything fried food. I ate 2 tums but they didn’t help. After you eat enough of those they start making you sick. I had the nurse bring me some ice for my forehead and after a while I started feeling better. Scott came by to say good morning before work and he gave me a kiss. He didn’t want to go but I told him I was fine. Just something I ate. When Conner came for breakfast I told him I was not feeling well and was sorry all I wanted to do right now was sleep. He kissed me on my forehead and said to call if I needed him. I told him I might feel like eating lunch later. He left. The doctor came and said, I was fine but when I could eat I should. She said, she was going to check on the babies Monday but right now the monitor on my stomach said they were fine. I went to sleep. Conner woke me up at lunch and I was feeling better. He stayed the rest of the day. We talked and watch shows on tv. Nothing exciting but it was a quite day.
The extraction team was still in the plane kicking it back until they got to another airport to pick up another helicopter.
A young monk woke Matthew and said, the High Monk will see you. They are also serving breakfast. Matthew asked how Jean was doing and the young monk said, better. Then Matthew followed the young monk into a large room where everyone ate. The High Monk was seated up on a platform like a stage would be. Matthew walk up where he could see him and bowed. The High Monk waved him up. Matthew walked up the ramp to the High Monk seated at a table with another monk. Matthew got down on one knee and bowed his head and said, thankyou for seeing me. The High Monk said, What is it my brother? Matthew said, I have a donkey that saved my life. I would like to give him to you and ask that you see he is well treated. The High Monk said, Thankyou brother for such a wonderful gift. I will make sure he is well taken care of. Matthew said, thankyou and stood up. Matthew went down the ramp to the young monk was at the bottom. The young monk showed Matthew to a table where food was waiting for him. The two ate their food and then went down stairs to see the donkey. Matthew seeing the donkey kissed him and told him that he was sorry he had to leave him behind but that he had given him to the High Monk and he would take good care of him. The young monk handed Matthew a large carrot and said he likes these. Matthew gave the donkey the carrot and the donkey was really happy with it. The young monk told Matthew that he had him all set up in the helicopter room and they needed to take the baby goats there. The young monk, Matthew and two other young monks each picked up a baby goat and went to the helicopter room. This was the room everyone waited for their ride. The young monk had Matthew’s things in the largest seating area next to the door. He had made a little pen to put the goats in with some hay. Everyone put the goats in the pen and they all 4 goats huddled together. Matthew gave the young monk a hundred out of his wallet and said, This is for clean up after I leave. The young monk said thankyou. Matthew said, thankyou and the monks left. There was a young monk sitting at a desk who took care of the room. Matthew took off his shoes and sat down to meditate. Three or 4 hours later Matthew was sitting on the floor with his bags and 4 small goats looking out the glass door at the helicopter pad all covered with snow. It was very cold outside but Matthew and the goats were nice and warm. There was the young monk sitting at the desk that took care of everything. A German shepherd dog came up to the glass. It looked skinny and was shaking because of the cold. Matthew said to the monk at the desk. What’s with the dog? The monk at the desk said, It belonged to someone who fell off the mountain and no one has claimed it. Matthew said, what will happen to the dog? The monk said, it will most likely freeze. Matthew got in his bag and got out some money. He asked the man if he could go get him two chicken breasts from the deli, goats milk for the baby goats and him, two waters, a small bowl and some baby diapers. The monk said, no problem. I will be right back. When the monk left Matthew opened the door and brought the dog in. The dog kept wanting to lick Matthews face to show how grateful he was. Matthew was wearing his robe so he got in his bag and took out his jacket and put it on the dog. He then took some cloth, put salve on each paw and then wrapped each one with cloth he had been given for his feet. The dog had quit shivering. The monk came back and gave Matthew a bag with everything he had asked for. Matthew started feeding the chicken breast to the dog. The dog was so happy. Matthew said, what am I going to call you? Matthew said, Sam? The dog didn’t respond. Matthew said, Lucky? And again the dog didn’t respond. Matthew said, Sergeant? The dog’s ear came up. She sat up and looked at Matthew. Matthew smiled and said, Sergeant it is. After the dog ate the chicken breast Matthew got out the bowl and gave the dog some water and then some goat’s milk. Matthew then drank some and feed the rest to the goats. While waiting for his men he put baby diapers on the baby goats. He didn’t want them to pee on everything. The dog laid down and went to sleep next to Matthew while Matthew was waiting.
