I woke and the bed was empty. Matthew had not been home. I thought a new year. Hopefully it will be better than last year. That was one year I would not want to repeat. I could hear Mom in the kids room and thought I should get up and get ready for breakfast. The baby nurse was in the lounge chair and the babies were fine. I feed them several times last night and everything went well. When I came out of the bathroom they were just bringing our breakfast. The woman said, they were still cleaning up from the party and would be bringing lunch also. I got several text from Matthew that he loved me and would still be busy the next couple of days in order for Carlson and other people to spend time with their families. Since Matthew can take off when ever he wants I totally understand. Also Matthew thought about other people now. Especially children. Breakfast was so good that it was gone fast. I thought I better get some exercise in before I get really fat. The day was nice. I always enjoy having Mom here and she really enjoys the grandkids. The day was quite and nice. It also went fast.
TUESDAY JANUARY 2 Matthew woke me in the middle of the night to give me a baby. It was so nice seeing him in the bed. When I woke in the morning he was gone again and Mom was there. An empty bed left me with a feeling of loneness. I told myself there was nothing to worry about. He was just working. It was not going to be like last year. I thought what am I going to do this year? I decided that for the next 5 years I would just be taking care of the kids and that is all I would focus on. Mom had the sniffles so she asked for meals in our room today. We talked a lot about clothes. Mom was going to buy and organize the kids clothes. She also wanted to get me some more clothes. She said, since you already have a boy and girl we can use a lot of hand me downs. I tried to get on the bike and treadmill twice so when I went to bed I would be tired. It was another good day.
WEDNESDAY JANUARY 3 Matthew had been there during part of the night and when I woke up. He had breakfast with us in our room. Mom still had the sniffles and didn’t want to go out. Matthew then was off to work. I got several good kisses and was wishing he didn’t have to go. Around 2 pm he text me and Mom that he need my help. For me to get ready and he would come over and pick me up. Mom said, I needed a different shirt and jacket because it was cold outside. She helped me get ready. Matthew showed and said, we needed to go to Carlson’s office because Connor had a problem. He took my hand and we started walking over. My mind was racing. What kind of problem could Connor have? While we were walking over to Carlson’s office I noticed how warm Matthew’s hand was. It was nice to have him hold my hand. I really missed sleeping on his shoulder at night. When we got to Carlson’s office. Connor explained that he hated to ask me for help but could not figure out anything else to do and Matthew said, I would understand. Connor had a really good friend named Jackson that married an Inuit or Eskimo woman in northern Greenland. The woman was pregnant with twin boys and was very sick. Connor’s friend named Jackson had gone to a hospital in Alaska to have his wife moved there but there was such a bad storm where she was no one could get her out. Her doctor told Jackson on the phone he didn’t know if his wife would make it another day. Being a mother this news was very upsetting. Matthew said, I know I have told you not to jump but this is very important and if you could do anything to save her and the boys? I smiled at Matthew and said, I understand. I asked Conner to get his friend Jackson at the hospital on the phone. Conner talking on the phone said to Jackson, I have someone here I think might be able to help. Conner handed me the phone. I said, hi my name is Angel. I am Matthew’s wife. Conner told me what is happening. Are you at the hospital right now? Jackson replied, yes. I said, tell me about where you are. I shut my eyes and Jackson started saying what city he was in. What hospital. I said, describe the room at the hospital you are in. He said, I am in security with one of the security guards. My mind was searching. I could picture him in my mind and where he was. I had done this many times. I knew I could do it. I jumped. Carlson and Conner just looked as the phone hit the desk and I was gone. I opened my eyes to be standing next to Jackson. The security guard was stunned. He was just starring at me. I look at Jackson and said, do you have a map and can you get this hospital on the phone. Jackson just looked at me for a second and said, I have a map but the storm is too bad so we can not get them on the phone or the radio. He took a map out of a satchel bag and started explaining where his wife was. I asked about the buildings. I said, please write down your wife’s name. The guard gave him a paper and pen. He wrote his wife’s name and then under it the name of his wife’s daughter from her first marriage. He said she was at the hospital with her. I said, what does your wife look like? He described his wife a little. He said, they had never had a storm this bad and no one had been able to get to her. I turn to the guard who was still looking at me and said, you say anything to anybody about me and I will come back and kill your ass. The guard said, no. absolutely no. He turned to his desk to look at something else. I looked at the map very carefully and then held the paper with his wife’s name on it and shut my eyes. My mind was searching and then I jumped. I knew I could do this. I kept telling myself had done it before. I ended up in a one room building with a man at a desk. It looked like a guard shack. He looked at me and said, where did you come from? I held the paper out and said, do you know this woman? He said, she is in the hospital. He stood up and went to the window. The storm was really bad out . He said, if you can see a build over there, it is the hospital. I could see a little of a building mostly covered with snow. There was a light that looked like it was over a door. He said, you can’t go out there you will not even make it to the door. I shut my eyes and jumped. I opened them to be stand in a small room with a woman in bed. There was a young woman setting in a chair by the bed. I held the paper up to the young woman. I was pointing at the woman in the bed and said, is this her? The young woman shook her head yes. I stuck the paper in my pocket. I took down the two bags hanging on a hook, removed wires from monitors and put them on her chest. I put my arm’s under her arm pits and sat her up. I reached with my right arm moving her legs off the bed. I had her so she was sitting on the edge of the bed. I squeezed between her legs with my body and with my arms around her. She was so sick she didn’t open her eyes. She was limp. I turned my head to the young girl and said, don’t go anywhere I will be right back. I jumped to the guard room with Jackson and sat the woman in a rollie chair. Jackson yelled at the guard to page doctor Byrne. Jackson was holding her in the chair and screaming at the guard. I jumped back in front of the young girl. She said, where did you take my mom? I said, the hospital with your dad. I said, here give me a hug. She looked at me a minute and then she hugged me. I hugged her. I jumped. The only person in the guard room was the guard. I said to him, this is the woman’s daughter. Please take her to her mom. I said to the girl, never say anything to anyone about this. Its top security military equipment and I am not suppose to use it. She was so happy and said, don’t worry I won’t tell anyone. Thankyou. They went out the door. I jumped back to Carlson’s office and Matthew was pacing. I had only been gone a few minutes but Matthew was worried. He looked at me with a the question in his eyes. I said, all done. Just then my legs started giving out and I was heading for the floor. Matthew caught me before that happened. I opened my eyes and said, I am so sick I can’t stand up. Matthew picked me up and with Conner behind him, he carried me over to the hospital. I was shaky, weak, couldn’t see anything and so sick to my stomach. I heard the nurse called an emergency. They quicky brought a bed and Matthew put me on it. We were off to the ER. I could hear everything but could not see anything. It was just all black. Matthew had them call my doctor straight away. My doctor told them to put me in my room and start running test. She then showed up. She had everyone else but Matthew and Conner leave. She said, to me what seems to be the problem? I open my eyes. I could hear her but couldn’t see her. I said, I turned the Christmas lights on 4 times and now I can’t see you. She said, oh, I see. She let the other nurses back in the room to continue testing. One nurse said, she has a small temperatures and her iron is really low. One nurse was finishing the Ekg and showed it to the doctor. It looked fine. The other nurse said, her blood sugar is really really low. The doctor said to the two nurses, here is what I want you to do and let me know as soon as her blood test come back. They hung some bags and it was about an hour before I was feeling better. I could see again. The nurse came in with a protein drink and said, the doctor wants you to drink this. Matthew and Conner sat patiently in chairs near my bed. You could tell Matthew was concerned that maybe he shouldn’t have asked me to jump. The doctor came in looking at my chart and said, your very dehydrated, your blood sugar is extremely low, iron, magnesium and many other things were really low and that is why you are really sick. She said, I am keeping you over night until we get everything back to normal. I suggest you don’t jump but you know that. You know how I feel about that. But if you have to, next time you want to jump, you might try downing a couple bottles of water and protein drinks first. If you let this happen again you could lose you eye sight. Matthew was relieved. The doctor left and Matthew came over and give me a big kiss. He then kept kissing me on the forehead and cheek. When he stopped I turned to Conner and said, have you heard anything about Jackson’s wife? Conner said, Jackson called to to thankyou and said, he would call later when the doctor could give him some news. I looked at Matthew and said, do I really have to stay here all night? I really want to go home. Matthew said, we have to do what the doctor says. I will stay with you until the baby nurse has to go. Conner left and Matthew spend a lot of time by my bed side. He was kissing my hand, my face and telling me how much he loved me. It was really nice. He was being so sweet. Matthew left later to take care of the babies. They brought me roast beef for dinner, a protein drink and everything was so good. The doctor came by to see how I was doing and I asked her if it would be much longer before Matthew and I could get together. I said, it is really hard sleeping in a bed next to him every night and not being able to be affectionate. The doctor said, if I send you home in the morning, call and make an appointment in a day or two and we will see about that. I smiled really big thinking it would not be long. The nurse gave me something to sleep and I didn’t know anything until the woke me for breakfast in the morning.
