It was a month before the Baby was to be born and Matthew’s mom wanted to go to the city, look at baby clothes and have ice cream. Matthew didn’t want us to go but he choose his best driver Mike and Carl a bodyguard. Matthew said we were to listen to Carl the bodyguard or we would not be going anywhere again. Matthew had a driver who was a blackbelt take us. He choose two of his best men so he could be sure we would be fine. It had been months since I had been to the city. It was a big town and so we thought we would fit in and no one would know who we were there. I was really big and kind of waddled when I walked. Matthew would kind of laugh me and I would tell him to stop or I was going to make him carry me everywhere. Matthew loved teasing me and I knew he meant no harm.
When we got to town we went to Mom’s favorite restaurant. I had this fabulous strawberry crepes with whipped topping. Carl was not allowed to take his eyes off of us so when he went in with us, we talked him into having something. The three of us had a great time. I told Mom I would really like to come back again sometime.
Next Matthew’s mom took me to her favorite store to look at baby clothes. She had been there before. She had been looking at some of their things online. She said they didn’t put a lot of their stuff online and you could only get a lot of things in the store. We spent a lot of time in the store. We picked out a crib for Hunter. She was getting too big for the baby bed and Wyatt could use it. The baby clothes she bought were so cute. I can’t wait until I get the baby in them. We were having a great time. We bought so much stuff. Everything should last for awhile. Mom also said when the kids out grow these things we could put them in the Reuse children’s room. We were in the store for a couple of hours and I had to sit down a lot. Carl was so nice and right by our side every minute. Carl finally put us in the car and then put everything we bought in the trunk.
Mom told the driver she wanted to go to her favorite ice cream store. The driver then took us to the address that Mom gave him. Carl went in with us carefully watching over us. I picked out two scopes in a sugar cone. Chocolate chip and dark chocolate brownie. It was so good. I thought I was making such a pig of myself but we would not be coming back for a long time. While the three of us were in the store the driver had parked in front so we could just get back in the car as soon as possible. As we exited the door we were talking about the flavors we had and how great they were. Something like 50 people showed up. I said to one person where did you guys come from. The woman said they had just watched a play down the street. Mom was half way out the door when one person squeezed in the door next to her. That made Carl mad and he said to the guy to stay clear you could have knocked her down. Carl turned sideways putting his left hand next to Mom and his right hand next to me. Almost to the car threw the unexpected crowd a couple came up to Mom with a filer and asked if she knew where this address was. Mom wasn’t sure but thought maybe our driver might know. She tapped on the front passenger window of the driver’s side to have him roll down the window. I was still standing back behind Carl near the store really enjoying my ice cream. When the driver rolled down the window the man was on the left and the lady on the right side of Mom. Mom told our driver this couple was looking for this address and handed him the flyer. He said yes and everyone leaned into the window as he explained how to get there. Carl was opening our door because he wanted to get me in the car when someone hit him with a stun gun. Down he went. No one really noticed at first but me because there was so many people. The couple then left and mom asked the driver if he had a napkin because her ice had started leaking all over her hand before she noticed Carl on the ground. She screamed and dropped her ice cream. She turned around to ask if I knew what happened and I wasn’t there. The driver then jumped out of the car and ran around to find out what happened. He looked at Carl on the ground. Mike opened the back door and told mom get in right away. He bent down to see about Carl and looked around for me. As Mom was getting in the back seat the driver said to Mom where is Angel. Frantically Mom said she is gone. He decided Carl was going to be ok. He went into the ice cream shop looking around and I was not there. He came out as Carl was getting up the driver looked to his right and there was an alley. Laying in the alley entry way was my ice cream cone. He hurried to the alley and looked down at the other end to see a white van was leaving. It was too far for him the see a license plate. He immediately got on his phone and called Matthew. He said, “She is gone. I think she has been abducted. She just disappeared. Matthew started asking question as he ran to the his car. He grabbed Steve on the way out the door. The driver explain about all these people and someone stun gunned Carl. He said there was this couple that was asking about directions and Angel was eating her cone when it all went down. He said it all went down in a matter of seconds. He explained my ice cream cone was on the ground at the alley opening. He said that Carl could talk now if Matthew wanted. Matthew said he would talk to him when he gets there. Matthew just about died. Matthew turned to Steve and said if I jumped, I would have taken my ice cream with me. Matthew realized the worst that I had been kidnapped. His mom was crying and the lady from the ice cream store came out and asked if she was ok. The driver put his arm around mom and said he would find me. He told mom lets put you in the front seat in the car and that Matthew was coming. Carl got in the back seat in total shame and closed the door. All these years he had never missed up like this. The driver told mom they were going to go down the alley and around corner and see if they see anything. He backed up and drove down the alley and was looking at the doors and possible places I might had gone if I was not in the van. He was kicking himself because the couple had pulled the oldest trick in the book and he let them distract him while they stun gunned Carl. The driver was thinking we were supposed to be a team and he had let Carl down. He wasn’t on guard because every time he had gone to town or took mom or anyone else there was not a problem. He wanted to kill himself. Matthew was depending on him to protect his wife and baby and he had failed. Maybe Matthew would kill him and put him out of his misery. They drove around and around and didn’t see anything. It was like I had disappeared from this earth. They parked back in front of the closed ice cream parlor and a few minutes later Matthew showed up. Matthew went to the passenger side door with his mom. She was a nervous reck and still crying. He helped her out of the car. She was saying, “I am so sorry. I love her so much and I just wanted her to have nice baby clothes.” He put his arms around her and said, “I know mom. Don’t worry we will find her.” Steve, Carl and the driver Mike were standing behind him. The driver said I am so sorry I let you down. Matthew looked over his shoulder at Carl and the driver with such hatred. He wanted to tear them into little pieces. He put his mom in the his car and started to ask the driver questions. Mathew had to cross his arms and put his hands under his arm pits to control his anger and keep him from killing them. The driver took him over to alley and showed him the ice cream cone on the ground as he explain where Carl was, about all the people and about the couple looking for directions. Matthew ask if he knew where the couple went. The driver said no and that he had driven all around trying to find Angel or the couple but everyone was gone. Matthew and Steve walked the alley but did not find any more info so they came back to the car. Matthew asked Steve if he could go back with Carl because he need to be with his mom. So they all went back to the compound. On the way back Matthew called Gary and told him what happen and asked him to see if he could find any information on the web. Contracts, special plane flights out town, just anything. Gary said he would start now. When they got back Matthew had the nurse give his mom something to sleep. He had Amy go and stay with her. He had Cindy come down with the baby and her baby bed. He kissed his mom on the cheek and told her not to worry we will find her. He said, ” Amy, Cindy and the baby are going to stay with you for now.”
